Photo Submission Requirements

Types of photos to submit

Right now the only photos we are posting to the database are photos of a single car. In the future we may add sections for multiple cars, fleet shots, event photos, memorabilia, etc. Photos of cars in junkyards are ok, as sadly many of these beauties are now resting in junkyards across America. Search the database for cars you have photos of, if we don’t have that very car listed yet, we’d love to add it!

Information to submit for each photo

Whatever format you chose to submit photos, be sure to include the following information for each photo. This will help us catalog the photo appropriately.

Required:
1. Year
2. Make - i.e. Cadillac, Dodge, Horse-Drawn
3. Coachbuilder - i.e. Superior, Miller. OK to use Unknown for Horse-Drawn
4. Model - i.e. Landau Hearse, Combination, Criterion Ambulance

Optional:
5. Title - Usually combining items 1-4
6. Description – Tell us what you know about the car.  Who owned it and where.
7. Submitted by – Would be you of course.
8. Who took the photo
9. Location the photo was taken
10. Date the Photo was taken – Must be in MM/DD/YYYY format or the online submission form will not work. Leave it blank if you do not know the exact date.

File size

When submitting pictures electronically, especially when submitting batches of pictures through e-mail, try to keep the files to a reasonable size. Anywhere from a 50KB to 200KB picture is ok for single pictures and for batches try not to send a file larger than about 5MB. All of the pictures I receive will be optimized for the web.

All of the pictures submitted will display the "www.NorthlandPCS.com" stamp to mark where the picture is being displayed from. This is not a copyright on the photos you are submitting, it's simply to discourage people from linking directly to the pictures from other sites and using up our bandwidth.

Review process

I will review all pictures submitted before posting. I reserve the right to refuse any picture from being posted for any reason. In most cases this would be because perhaps the picture quality was too blurry or maybe we already have several pictures of the exact same car.
